This is the end of Hollywood Blvd in DCA. I was trying to capture this photo to demonstrate the way thye make it look like the sun is setting behind the Hollywood hills at the end of the street painted on the building, but the photo doesn't quite do that part justice.

These purple flowers where blooming on a lot of trees around the entry plaza and DCA. They looked and smelled a lot like liliacs.� 2005 Douglas Ingram

Emma got Jay back and was at first very happy. After a few minutes it became clear she didn't want to give him up for ANYTHING and was so protective she cried when we hooked him to the backpack on the way out.

Our view of Long Beach Sound from the 14th floor. That's the Queen Mary in the distance and a Carnival cruise ship bearthed next to her on the far left. A pretty impressive view!

Despite our efforts to keep the room as dark as possible, Emma awoke bright and early. If she hadn't woken everyone (particularly her dad) several times through the night anyway, that wouldn't have been a big deal. But since even dad was tired, he got out some breakfast and toy's and started up Winnie The Pooh on the laptop and Emma minded her own business for a couple hours while dad got a little extra sleep.

After Grandpa went off to his conference, Grandma and dad took Em down to the pool for a little fun. She was worn right out and had a breakdown in the pool. So after a quick warm up in the jacuzzi we ran back to the room and climbed in bed without any fuss. After Em was snoozing, dad drove off to find some lunch (Emma had lunch before bed). Now that we've had a pannido and chicken form the local Jack In The Box we're good to go for anothe couple hours.
